They're a Swedish trio who got their name from a character in a poem by Swedish 18th-century poet Carl Michael Bellman. They performed and were interviewed by Stephen Colbert on The Colbert Report in 2009.
After the show, Colbert mentioned that Movits' album Äppelknyckarjazz had become popular on Amazon, he refers to this as the Colbert Bump.
